3 Months later

it's been over 3 months since my last post and it is amazing all that has happened.

Two different people have passed away. One being a very dear friend of mine that was one of my oldest friends and the other being the sister of one of my best friends. Pretty rough patch there.

The beautiful baby girl of mine just passed her four month mark and is in the 90% for weight, 90% for head circumference and 75% for length. She is a big, healthy, girl. Also, an angel. Her tempermant is very laid back and she doesn't fuss all that often, rarely cries and never screams. Meghan and I are both thankful that she sleeps through the night, and has since around the 6 week mark.

Work is work and that's all I have to say about that. :)

Oh - if you looked at my fantasy football draft you'd see that at least 1/2 of my picks were either hurt for the entire season, or most of it. Ended up dead last. What a turn around from the year before - ouch.

Baby's R Us = Redskins Mania

The last two weekends we have had to make treks to the Baby's R Us. The last two weekends we have seen a Redskins player there.





First, it was Andre Carter. Starting DE (Defensive End). He was in the store with his wife/girlfriend/baby's moma and at one point was trying on the Baby Bjorn. Now - Andre is around 6'4" and a big dude...... I have no idea how that thing is actually going to fit around his chest - but it was fun to watch him trying it on.




this last weekend it was Jon Jansen. He was hobbling around with a walking boot/cast thing on. He broke his ankle, or something like that, the first week of the season so he has plenty of time to go check out the best deals on Graco play toys.

It is funny to see these monsterous guys going through the store. Not that they shouldn't be involved as Fathers but they are so much bigger than everyone and everything that you can't help but notice them.

I could care less, honestly, as I don't approach these guys - after all they are just a couple of Redskins players..... HAHAAHAHAHA :-)

Oh sweet Child of mine

Our beautiful baby girl was born last Thursday and it is absolutely amazing that you can fall in love with something instantly. As soon as she was born a tear of joy fell down my face and then an instant smile. God has granted us with a healthy child that in her first 10-11 days of life rarely reaches "loud" in her cries and doesn't actually create any tears (yet). How much more blessed could we be - I just don't know.

Thank all of your for your continued love, support and numerous prayers. Here is a photo of the beautiful young lady.

Baby Guesses

For all the CW guys - here are your guesses. Every cell is conditionally formatted with "if". If you guessed a precursor wrong (as in Month = 10 Day = 20) you got a negative one -- since we KNOW that the Month = 9. I obviously don't have the time, length and weight as of yet, but these were just random numbers I put in there. The placements could change completely after tomorrow as many people received negative numbers for not having a weight or length that I had used.

Oregon Ducks

Fantasy Football Picks

Last week we had our fantasy football draft.

Now - for those of you that don't love football, or don't have an infatuation with fantasy football, I'm not going to try to explain it. Just like I don't ask you why you like playing dungeons and dragons - dork. :-)

Anyway. I truly enjoy the night of the draft. We order a ton of food, get some beers and just make fun of each other for a few hours. Even though it was preseason we even had a football game to watch. What else could a guy ask for?

Here is the draft - which I feel comfortable with my picks (Oregon Reigns). I had the #12 pick because I was the winner of the league last year. Sometimes it's hard being me, I tell ya.

Good Day

It is absolutely amazing how a simple phone call from a friend can make your day. (No Ben, it isn't you!) :-)

Being a west coast boy, being in the military and now living on the east coast I now have many friends spread out across the country. I got a call from my friend Stephanie - who lives out in Cali - this morning and her wonderful spirit really would make anyones day brighter.

Here is to hoping that everyone has a friend or two to call them out of the blue and make their day.

Party on party people

Had a baby shower on Saturday and man was it a blast ......... for Meghan. :-) I sat outside and enjoyed a cigar away from it all, but it was very generous of people to come and bring a gift. Meghan really enjoyed it and her Mom did a great job hosting the event.

I spent most of the day yesterday putting things together. Who knew that a little baby swing would take four hours to put together (it's a joke). I did rack my knuckle once and got it to bleed. So, someday I can honestly tell the baby that my blood, sweat and tears (still working on that one) were the building blocks of the things she craps in. :-)

The thing that I'm most moved by though is how absolutely awesome people are about giving when it comes to a baby. Through life I've never really had any handouts, so things like this really do make me uncomfortable. I don't know how to accept gifts. For some reason I'd much rather struggle to pay for everything myself - which is foolish - but that's just me. To anyone that gave a gift this weekend - I am humbled....... Thank you very much.

Oh - my favorite item is the little onesy that says "Does this diaper make my butt look big?" HAHAHAAHA..
